Seminary Hill Orchard & Cidery
Seminary Hill Orchard & Cidery is located in New York's Catskills region - their cidery sits on a hillside overlooking the Delaware River along the Pennsylvania border. We first visited the cidery in the summer of 2025, and the setting and cidery were equally dreamy (as was the food and live music!). Owners Doug Doetsch & Susan Manning’s have a commitment to sustainability - the award-winning building is the world’s first Passive House certified Cidery, and the orchard is managed in accordance with organic standards. They grow more than sixty different cider-specific varieties of apple and perry pears. Their ciders are “orchard-driven,” highlighting the qualities of the apples themselves and the place where they are grown. Seminary Hill ciders tend toward the dry end of the scale and are all made without fining agents or other additives. Many of their ciders are on the tannic side, and they make an excellent range of sparkling and still ciders.
