Peak Light Cider - Pét-Nat Quince Cider (750 mL)
Peak Light Cider - Pét-Nat Quince Cider (750 mL)
Peak Light's Pet-Nat Quince Cider blends several varieties of quince (including Pineapple Quince and Smyrna Quince) and late maturing apples (primarily Winesap and Baldwin) to produce a cider with delightful botanical and floral undertones.
This latest vintage was newly released in Summer of 2025 and is made with fruit from the 2024 growing season, bottled Pét-Nat. We still have some of the previous, award-winning batch which still tastes phenomenal. Both are lovely, different enough to try them both - and quite simply one of the nicest expressions of Quince in a cider that you'll find.
Tasting Notes: Incredible aromatics of ripe quince, juicy pineapple, and honeysuckle floral notes. It drinks slightly off-dry, with medium-plus acidity and medium-minus tannins. A lovely effervescence and a touch of sweetness at first sip carries fresh apple and bright quince notes - with bursts of meyer lemon, cooked pineapple, candy peach, and honey. Mouthwatering acidity carries the palate through a long and pleasant lingering aftertaste of quince notes.
About Peak Light Cider: One of our favorite Oregon cideries, Peak Light is a family run farm and cidery based on Sauvie Island. Located just a few minutes drive northwest of Portland, Sauvie Island is a tranquil island covered in farmland and surrounded by the Columbia and Willamette Rivers. From the top of Peak Light's sloped estate orchard you can see four of the Pacific Northwest's most iconic mountains - Mount Adams, Mount Rainier, Mt. Saint Helens, an Mount Hood. Jen and Travis Lovejoy adhere to principles of organic and biodynamic farming, with a holistic effort to maximize biodiversity in their orchard. They craft fine ciders using traditional cider apple varieties, quince, and other fruit grown on their home orchard, with some fruit coming from other like-minded local farmers. The result is a variety of exceptional ciders that provide a high quality farm-to-bottle experience.
Fun label design notes: The gorgeous mountain view from their orchard is depicted in the die cut along the bottom edge of each of their cider's labels. See the four peaks? Also the grid on the cider's label represents each tree in their orchard, with the varieties used in each bottle and the trees the fruit came from highlighted. How cool is that?
