La Maison des Petits - l'Ardeche Cider (750 mL)
La Maison des Petits - l'Ardeche Cider (750 mL)
This cider is made in collaboration by a collective of wine and cider makers from the Ardèche region in Southeastern France. Collectively Les Petits Projects, the group includes Jocelyne and Gérald Oustric, of Le Mazel estates, Hélène & Christophe Comte of Les Vigneaux, and Géraldine and Méryl Croizier of La Vrille et Le Papillon.
Following the closure of the only bar/cafe in their village, these three winemakers purchased a house in the village together with the intention of creating a bar. The visions shifted once the cafe reopened, but the idea of doing a project together to benefit the village remained. The house was repaired and now offers accommodations to families in need of housing.
This l'Ardeche Cidre is another of the groups' collaborations. Made with apples purchased from an organic grocer friend, predominantly non-sweet Ardeche apples. The cider was produced in Le Mazel's cellar. After fermentation, the bottles are stored at the "Maison des Petits Projects". This cider is dry and slightly sparkling.
2021 apple harvest / cider vintage. The label on this cider bottle reads "Cidre Brut pour ce monde de douceur", which roughtly translates to "Brut Cider for this world of sweetness".
Ardèche is a department in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Southeastern France. It is named after the river Ardèche.
