Haykin Family Cider - Pitmaston Pineapple (750 mL)
Haykin Cider's Pitmaston Pineapple is made from a blend of 75% Pitmaston Pineapple apples grown at Idyll Acres in Oregon, and 25% John Grimes from Uncle John’s Cider Mill in Michigan. We love this cider - featuring the Pitmaston Pineapple, an uncommon apple variety with loads of delicious character that show off nicely in this bottle.
Pitmaston Pineapple is an old English eating variety with an eponymous pineapple character that plays up when fermented.
Tasting Notes: This dry cider is subtle and delicate, would make for a great brunch cider or daytime sipper. Great aromatics of fresh apple, pineapple, and sweet pear. Nice juicy acidity (medium-plus) and modest tannins (medium-minus) that drinks light bodied and highly refreshing. Several notes of fresh fruit including apple, sweet pear, pear skin, and canned pineapple. Light lemon notes, crisp minerality, and a soft hint of sweet pastry dough.
Please note there is absolutely no pineapple in this cider. Though it has a fantastic flavor profile including notes of canned pineapple.
