Seattle Cider - City Fruit 2024 (750 mL)
Seattle Cider - City Fruit 2024 (750 mL)
Seattle Cider's City Fruit cider holds a special place in our heart, and is an excellent cider that supports an incredible cause. Made with more than 40 types of crabapples and other cider apple varieties harvested throughout Seattle by local non-profit City Fruit, with all proceeds from each purchase supporting City Fruit's mission.
City Fruit manages fruit trees throughout the community, harvesting fresh fruit around Seattle that would otherwise go to waste, and donating it to area food banks and other meal programs throughout the community. Many of the apples harvested by City Fruit are crabapples and other cider specific apple varieties that aren't excellent for eating, but are perfect for cider. Seattle Cider buys these apples from City Fruit to make this special release, and also donates proceeds from the cider sales to support City Fruit. We at Press Then Press love City Fruit (Erik serves on the Board of Directors), and we're matching the contributions of Seattle Cider for every bottle purchased through us.

About City Fruit: City Fruit is a Seattle based non-profit that manages the "urban orchard" throughout Seattle. They provide tree care services and harvest from the bounty of fruit trees growing on public lands and private property throughout Seattle. The majority of the fruit that is harvested is then distributed to community meal programs throughout the city - including food banks, Fruit for All giveaways in each neighborhood in Seattle, student meal programs, and more. In a typical year, nearly 50,000 pounds of fruit that would otherwise go to waste is diverted to the community. A small percentage of the fruit harvested includes crabapples and cider apple varieties that aren't great for eating - but make incredible ciders. Those are purchased by a couple cideries in town, including Greenwood, who make delightful ciders like this one with the fruit. A delicious way to support a great organization and their efforts!
About Seattle Cider: Seattle cider was founded in 2013, and was originally a subsidiary brand to Two Beers Brewing based in the Seattle's SoDo neighborhood. Launched near the beginning of the American cider revolution that's continuing to grow around the country, Seattle Cider went on to become one of the largest cideries in the country. To anybody who visited their tasting room in Seattle over the years, it was remarkable to watch it grow and evolve. Seattle Cider has won several awards for their ciders, including many prestigious Cidery of the Year awards at GLINTCAP and the Northwest Cider Cup. They have long been innovators and trendsetters in the cider community, making some of the best modern ciders in the Pacific Northwest. Sadly for cider enthusiasts in the Seattle area, Seattle Cider was acquired by Oregon's 2 Towns Cider Company in early 2026, and the Seattle based production space and tasting room were immediately closed. Before they closed for good, we were able to get our hands on their best ciders - the last few years of their annual City Fruit cider release, plus some fun vintage bottles we found in their warehouse. Get them while you can!
