Snow Capped Cider - Winesap Single Varietal (375 mL)
Snow Capped Cider - Winesap Single Varietal (375 mL)
Snow Capped Cider's Winesap is a single-varietal cider made from 100% estate grown Winesap apples. Winesap is an 18th-19th century American cider apple with high regard to virtue, history, and romantic wine-like flavors.
Tasting Notes: This cider is semi-dry with carbonation. Bold aromatics bounce out of the glass featuring fresh apple juice, cooked pear, and a floral quality. Flavor notes of fresh apple juice, fresh peach, dried pineapple, pear, and white flower, with a faint apple skin bitterness. Light minerality and earthiness with a velvety texture and a long crisp finish.
About Snow Capped Cider: Kari Williams' family has owned the orchards she now manages for more than 5 generations - though she's the first to use the apples for cider. Snow Capped Cider is crafted at an impressive elevation of 6,130 feet, making it one of the highest-elevation orchards and cideries in the world. Nestled at the base of the Grand Mesa - the largest flat-topped mountain in the world - on Colorado’s Western Slope. Their unique terroir benefits from high altitude, warm days, cool nights, and gravity-fed mountain water - which impacts the fruit in such a way that makes for excellent ciders. Their cider apples are grown exclusively in Colorado, adhering to traditional English and French orchard practices. Committed to sustainability, they craft high-quality ciders using sustainable farming practices, making Snow Capped Cider a zero-waste company.
Snow Capped has been on an impressive run the last few years at various Cider competitions, winning several awards for many of their recent releases.
