Eric Bordelet's Sydre Argelette is his Grand Cru cider - the most superior and excellent blend from his cider production. Bordelet was a trained Sommelier before he took over the reins of the nearly 50-acre orchard on his family's domain in 1992. The orchard, which is located near Charchigné, in Hauteville, is cultivated using organic and biodynamic methods. This domain's cider production is exceptional, and Eric's Sydre Argelette is the epitome of his excellent quality.
Argelette is an ancient name for the red, iron pebbles prominent in the soil around Eric Bordelet's orchard. This complex cider is made annually using the same blend of apples, including several bitter varieties, as well as sweet, and tangy apple varieties. The identical blend used annually will still result in nuanced differences in each vintage courtesy of the climate and other terroir differences each growing season.
This cider is characterized by its vinous nature, fine balance between acidity, roundness and minerality. This cider has considerable aging potential.
