Haykin Cider's French Cider Apples is a small batch cider from Haykin's Reserve line. An American cider sure to please fans of traditional French ciders of Normandy or Brittany.
This cider is made from a blend of 8 different French bittersweet apple varieties, including Vilberie, Muscadet de Bernay, Bedan, Nehou, Reine de Pommes, Calville Blanc d'Hiver, Marie Menard, and Marechal. The fruit in this bottle was grown by Idyll Acres (Oregon) and Ringsrud Orchard (Washington), all from the 2021 harvest season. Aged for a few years before it's release more recently.
Tasting Notes: This cider drinks semi-dry to semi-sweet with a flavor profile that includes notes of caramel, dates, brown sugar, hay, toasted marshmallow, and leather. Rich and complex, with prominent tannins.
