Lassen Cider - Pleasant Valley Mélange (750 mL)
Lassen Cider - Pleasant Valley Mélange (750 mL)
Lassen Traditional Cider's Pleasant Valley Melange is an artisanal cider made from a blend of dozens of different cider varieties sustainably grown by Pleasant Valley Cider Apples in Oregon's Willamette Valley. The Pleasant Valley Cider Orchard is along the banks of the South Fork of the Santiam River.
A cornucopia of excellent cider apples: The melange includes many various tannic English and French bittersweet and bittersharp cider apple varieties along with aromatic American heirlooms, red fleshed, and crab apples. The apples were pressed during the harvest season and barrel fermented with native yeasts, then bottle conditioned.
About Lassen Cider: Located in Chico, California near the Sierra Nevada Foothills. Ben Nielsen makes a range of traditional ciders made with apples unique to old orchards in Northern California, as well as apples sourced from famed cider orchards in California and Oregon. He specializes in dry, naturally made ciders - all fermented wild with native yeast, without any additives like sulfites, and without filtering. His ciders are raw and rustic, farmhouse style ciders. The cidery is named after the nearby Lassen Volcanic National Park; each cider blend is named for the orchard or location where the apples were harvested - offering a true taste of place.
