Greenwood Cider - Prickly Pear (16 oz)
Greenwood Cider - Prickly Pear (16 oz)
Greenwood Cider's Prickly Pear is a modern, fruit flavored cider made with their signature Washington apple blend, plus some Bartlett and D'Anjou pears. After the pear & apple cider is fermented, it's steeped with prickly pears, lending it robust color and intensity. Prickly Pears are the bright red fruit that grows on the end of Eastern Prickly Pear cactus variety native to the Eastern United States.
This cider is bright pink and sparkling. Semi-dry, with tart notes of strawberry and kiwi followed by a rounded pear finish.
About Greenwood Cider: Founded in the Greenwood neighborhood of Seattle in 2015, Greenwood Cider turn waste into resource by making cider from forgotten and foraged fruits picked from around the city and deep within the Pacific Northwest forest. That approach continues today. In addition to the more standard Washington apples, they use apples from local farms, small homesteads, and abandoned orchards. Greenwood Cider presses the fruit and crafts all of their small batch ciders in the Seattle city limits - which is unique compared to the larger brands that buy truckloads of juice and fruit purees to manufacture their ciders. It's an uncompromising blend of modern tastes and traditional cider-making. Their cider releases range from traditional ciders made with cider specific and heirloom apple varieties, to modern style ciders that are lower in complexity and flavored with other fruits and botanicals. They're one of a small number of cideries that make a wide range of many different cider styles very well.
