Liberty Ciderworks - 55 Chain English Style Cider (500 mL)
Liberty Ciderworks - 55 Chain English Style Cider (500 mL)
Sure to please any fan of great English ciders! From Liberty's Artisan Series, 55 Chain is made in the English "West County" style cider from a blend of Dabinett, Chisel Jersey, and Brown's apples. Native yeast fermented and aged in oak barrels. Apples were grown and hand-picked at Bishops' Orchard in Garfield, WA, near Steptoe Butte.
The "chain" is a reference to Gunter’s Chain, a measuring tool used by English surveyors for a couple hundred years (1600-1800s).
Notes of ripe apple, quince, oak, leather, and butterscotch. Pairs nicely with sharp cheddar, figs, prosciutto, smoked duck, or roasted vegetables.
About Liberty Ciderworks: Liberty is one of the absolute best cider makers in the Pacific Northwest - and America for that matter. Based in Spokane, Washington, they gather nearly all of their fruit from three tiny, family-run orchards in Eastern Washington that grow apple varieties with cider in mind. Soil and climate play major roles, as do the native yeasts they allow to ferment their ciders. Employing “natural wine” methods in all of their ferments, Liberty never filters their ciders and allows each orchard’s native yeast to work its magic. Their approach is inspired by global styles and traditions, but reflects their own apples, landscape, and culture. It’s a philosophy expressed in everything they produce, and it’s one we think you’ll really enjoy. Most of their ciders will be particularly appealing to fans of English style ciders.
