Bauman's Cider - Imperial Cider (12 oz)
Bauman's Cider - Imperial Cider (12 oz)
This is the only cider we carry that's marketed as an "Imperial Cider" ... a very broad category simply defined as ciders with at least 8% ABV. We carry so many ciders that are naturally higher alcohol than 8% based simply off the apples used to make the cider. Most ciders marketed as Imperial Cider are artificially sweetened before (and often after) fermentation to increase the the ABV and sweetness. They're usually pretty boring, and that's not our vibe. But this Imperial Cider from Buaman's Cider is different - a happy accident - and we love it!
Bauman's froze a batch of unfermented apple juice for storage and use later in the year. As the juice freezes, the sugars concentrate in portions of the frozen block of juice. As it thaws, the portions with denser sugar content thaw last. Bauman's pulls the top portion (lower density sugar content) and ferments that separately as their light cider; and the bottom portion with higher concentration of sugars is fermented as their Imperial Cider. Try them both!
P.S. We have to share this note from Bauman's: It occurs to us here at Bauman's Cider that we are not alone here. There may be other planets growing other apples that we could never even imagine! This high-gravity cider is our tribute to them, wherever they are -- Cheers and happy travels, til' we can raise an imperial pint together.
